Everyone has a hammer now.

IDENTITY
I’m Tad. As a kid I wanted to be the smartest person in the room. Occasionally, I was. I also did whatever I had decided to do, which the adults around me called a phase. It didn’t pass. Somewhere along the way I noticed that what I enjoyed wasn’t being right; it was building. So I build. Some things worked, all of them taught me something, and a few taught me humility, which I’m told is good for me.
VISION
Watch what people do when something breaks. Most reach for their phone and call an expert. A few stop, look at it for a second, and realize they could fix it themselves. Today anyone can build software; the tools are cheap and everywhere. But buying a hammer has never built a house. It still comes down to who picks it up. I try to be one of the few.
RHYTHM
A BODY IN MOTION STAYS IN MOTION.
So everyone has a hammer. What’s left? Rhythm. Sixteen hours a day, most days, swinging long after it stopped being exciting. People ask where I find the time. I don’t find it; I just never put the hammer down. The hammer is the same for everyone. The rhythm isn’t.
